What do we actually get for the talent fee?
Five hours of reception coverage that starts at cocktail hour, plus venue uplighting and intelligent dance floor lighting. Want more time? Add hours anytime.
How fast do we need to lock this in?
Faster than you think. Prime dates go quickly, and most of our couples book 12 to 18 months out.
How do payments work?
Four easy payments: 25% at booking, 25% at 9 months out, 25% at 6 months out, and the final balance 90 days before your wedding. We accept check, credit card, debit card, Venmo, Cash App, and cash for local couples.
What if our DJ gets sick?
We never book our team to 100%. There's always a Marquee headliner on standby, and we have a trusted network of top DJs as backup. Your night is covered, period.
Can we book now and add things later?
Absolutely, and we recommend it. Book your must-haves right away so your date is locked in and you never have to worry about losing it. Then, during your planning and creative sessions, we dial in the enhancements and options that fit your night best. Add-ons are based on availability, and once an item is booked it can't be removed.
Will we actually get to know our DJ?
Yes. The headliner you book is the one who plans every detail with you, from your first creative session to your last dance.
Will you MC and keep the night on schedule?
That's the job. Your headliner is also your host and MC, guiding introductions, toasts, formalities and every transition so your wedding flows just like you imagined.
How do we plan the music?
It all happens in our planning app: your must-plays, your do-not-plays and your timeline. Build it at your own pace, and your headliner brings it to life.
Do you take requests? And can we ban the Chicken Dance?
Your night, your rules. We take requests however you'd like, and your do-not-play list is sacred.
Do you play clean versions?
Most of the night, yes. We keep the music as clean as possible because we never know exactly who's in the room. Toward the end of the night things may get a little more explicit, and if you want explicit versions, just tell us.
Can a friend plug in and play a song?
We don't allow anyone else to plug into our gear. If something gets damaged mid-reception, the party's over, and we're not willing to risk your night. Send us the song and we'll play it.
Can you do our ceremony at a different location?
Yes. We can handle your ceremony even if it's at a separate spot from your reception. A travel fee may apply depending on the location.
Can we have the clouds, sparklers and CO2 at our venue?
It depends on your venue, since some don't allow certain effects. If we've worked there, we already know what's possible. If we haven't, we'll do a venue tour with you before your wedding and confirm with the venue what's allowed.
Will you travel for our wedding?
Ohio-based, destination-ready. Depending on where your wedding is, a travel fee may apply, and we'll tell you up front.
What do you need from our venue?
Honestly? Just space to set up and two separate power outlets. We arrive 2 to 4 hours early depending on your venue and setup, and yes, we carry liability insurance.
What does the DJ wear?
We come dressed to impress, always.
Can we see you perform before we book?
We never bring potential couples into someone else's private event, especially a wedding. That night belongs to them. You can catch us at our public events and local residencies, or listen to mixes from real Marquee weddings on Mixcloud.
Do you do more than weddings?
Yes! Rehearsal dinners, the night before the wedding, and after parties, which have become huge. A lot of couples do the traditional wedding music at the reception, then throw an after party where we can really go all in on the music they love. We also do anniversaries and corporate events.
